For over 30 years, Thomas Wettermann, of Lake Forest, Illinois, has worked in the fields of law, engineering, and sales. His extensive career includes roles at multi-national corporations as well as law firms. Thomas Wettermann attended DePaul University’s College of Law, graduating with a specialization in intellectual property.
In the summer of 2020, DePaul University’s College of Law received a $1 million gift to go toward an endowment that would fund scholarships for two law students. An alumnus of the school, Robert C Kopple, donated the money that would go toward the Kopple Scholars Endowment. While a student, Mr. Kopple was associate editor of the Law Review, and after graduation, he went onto establish a career in business, estate planning, and taxation law. The gift shows his appreciation for the top-notch education he received while attending in the late 1960s.
The scholarship was established to attract (and retain) students of the highest caliber. Moreover, by attracting stellar students, Mr. Kopple hopes that the scholarship can help DePaul maintain its ability to effectively compete with other top law schools across the nation.
